Q&A for changes in 2025

What are the new changes at White Pine?

1. New rates:

60 min: $125
90 min: $165
120 min: $200

2. Payments are accepted in-person via 💵 CASH or 💳 SQUARE (which takes credit/debit cards).

3. I now gratefully accept tips.

4. Bodywork is Mon-Wed by appointment
+ some Thurs mornings are available upon request.

Why are your rates changing?

I haven’t changed my rates much since I started with many of you a long time ago, despite growing my skills as a bodyworker, and with inflation making everything more expensive. I recently looked at the numbers with my accountant, and these rates are what I need to be able to make my business work while saving for retirement (these hands won’t last forever!). I appreciate your understanding!

What if I can’t afford weekly/biweekly sessions like I used to?

I suggest if you were doing frequent 90 min sessions with me to drop down to 60 min sessions unless you really need the extra work. We can still do some really great work together in a one hour session, especially if you see me regularly. And I have plenty of people on my waiting list, so you don’t need to worry about leaving me hanging if you need to do fewer sessions.

What if I can’t afford these rates at all?

I deeply believe in affordable healthcare for all, so if you are low-income, I offer a sliding scale of $75-95. I won’t turn you away because you can’t afford my services. To ensure I can pay the bills, I can only offer a sliding-scale rate once per month per client.

Why are you now accepting tips?

I’ve had some clients insist on tipping me because they work in the service industry, but I generally didn’t accept tips since I didn’t consider myself a “massage therapist.” I’ve shifted on that since I see other Thai therapists around me gladly accepting tips with no problem.

Why are you changing your payment method when I used to pay with Venmo?

My accountant notified me that big changes will be made with Venmo so it’s best to shift into Square or Cash. Plus, it’s just easier on my bookkeeping!

If you have any additional questions about my changes please don’t hesitate to reach out to me directly to ask.
With joy and good health,

Sarah Daigle
